Welcome to Gusto Table. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use our mobile application (the "App") and our website.

By using Gusto Table, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide you with our proactive culinary assistant, we collect the following types of information:

A. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Data: When you register, we collect your email address and authentication details (managed securely via Firebase Auth).
  • Profile & Dietary Data: We collect your family size, dietary preferences, food allergies, and your preferred notification times.
  • Feedback Data: Your recipe history (e.g., meals suggested in the last 30 days) and your preferences (e.g., swapped meals, thumbs up/down).

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Data: With your permission, we collect your approximate location (city/region level) to accurately provide weather-matched and locally seasonal recipe suggestions.
  • Device & Usage Data: We collect basic analytics, such as your operating system, device type, app usage times, and crash reports to improve the App.

C. Financial Information

  • Subscriptions: If you purchase a "Head Chef" premium subscription, the transaction is processed directly by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store), or managed via RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your raw credit card numbers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to make your life easier and your dinners better:

  • To Generate Recipes: We send your anonymized dietary constraints, weather, and location to our AI partners (Google Vertex AI) to generate your daily recipe.
  • To Provide Notifications: To send your daily "Pre-Panic" meal suggestion at your chosen time.
  • To Improve the App: To ensure we don't suggest the same meal twice in a month and to learn what types of meals your family enjoys.
  • To Communicate: To send you account-related emails, subscription updates, or respond to customer service requests.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data to data brokers or advertising agencies. We only share information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the App:

  • Cloud & Database: Google Cloud Platform (Firestore) for secure data storage.
  • AI Processing: Google Vertex AI (Gemini) to generate recipes. Note: Data sent for AI processing is restricted to prompt context (weather, diet, history) and is not used by our partners to train public AI models.
  • Payment Processing: RevenueCat, Apple, and Google for subscription management.

4. Global Privacy Rights (GDPR, CCPA, & KVKK)

Depending on where you live, you have specific rights regarding your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK).

You have the right to:

  1. Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  2. Delete: Request that we delete your account and all associated data.
  3. Rectify: Correct any inaccurate information in your profile.
  4. Withdraw Consent: Turn off location tracking or push notifications at any time via your device settings.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Your recipe history is kept on a rolling basis (e.g., 30 days) to prevent recipe repetition. If you delete your account, your personal data will be purged from our active databases within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Gusto Table is designed for parents, adults, and individuals capable of safely operating a kitchen. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain European jurisdictions). If you are under this age limit, please do not submit any personal information through the App. If we learn we have collected personal data from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information immediately.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
